Method

The development and creation of this project was particularly interesting. The film ‘ Method’ itself has a creepy, thriller – esque tone, and so we wanted to bring that feeling across in the titles. We also wanted to use as much anamorphic production as possible, creating interesting effects with as little computer involvment as possible. As an answer to this we looked at using type as image, and found ways to make it move in a creepy way. They best way to do this turned out to be spray painting type on to sheets of wax, and then melting the wax with a heat gun, causing the type to float around on the liquid. This then allowed us to add in the narrative of the police arriving to arrest the two men underneath the wax layers.
